War
As most of the global community is aware, this spring in Israel was marked by easing of (almost) all restrictions from the coronavirus pandemic, along with the challenges of an 11 day war between the Hamas terrorist organization and Israel. As thousands of rockets poured in from Gaza, sirens sounded several times in our area warning us to take shelter in our underground safe room. We heard rockets exploding relatively nearby, shaking our building. We learned practically how to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us. We learned practically how to do what David did: “I have set the LORD always before me; because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.”
Praise God, there is now quiet (peace is another issue), and Israel as well has peacefully transitioned into a new government. Please continue to pray for Israel, her safety, and her government as we go into the summer months.
Community
Our congregation has continued to grow in number, in depth of community life, and spiritual growth. One of our favorite things to do is to engage in discipleship in the context of the community. Daniela and I have been entrusted with leading the Young Adults, and we have seen some amazing times THEY HAVE INITIATED spontaneous prayer and worship while we are just “hanging out.” More and more they are interested in the things of God, to going deeper in his word and in the fellowship of the Holy Spirit. We know your continued prayer with us is brining about a revival in the hearts of God’s young people in Israel!
Personal Updates
Daniela has had some health challenges with her back and her teeth for which we would appreciate prayer. We are happy that we passed our 2nd Semester in our Hebrew School!!! Our next semester begins in the fall. During the month of July, our family will be visiting Texas for the first time in 2 years! We are excited to visit with family and friends this summer.
Worship Album
Please pray for us as Daniela will be recording her worship album in Dallas this summer. We really want this to be something from God’s heart, not just a personal project. We are hoping to finish sometime this year and have the worship experience available on Apple Music and our website. Keep an eye out for updates!!!
