Holidays
There is almost too much to tell from the last few months that God has been doing here in Israel. We passed the spring Jewish Holidays (Purim, Passover, and Shavuot) with some amazing events. Passover (or Pesach) was an exceptional time – one of the most important days of the the Jewish calendar. For our Saturday service, we invited families – believers and nonbelievers – together for a special Passover Seder (a dinner retelling the Hebrew Exodus from Egypt) while highlighting Yeshua and our deliverance from sin through the cross! It was an amazing opportunity to share the gospel as over 100 people attended!
We were also honored to help lead worship on Resurrection Sunday at the Garden Tomb in Jerusalem. It was spectacular to see thousands of people worshipping together with hope alive for our risen King. We have also been participating in a few ministry events in Jerusalem, like helping lead worship for the Shavuot (Pentecost) service in King of Kings Jerusalem, as well as playing a concert with Brazilian worship artist, Fernadinho.
Hunger
It’s hard to describe what has been happening in us and in the congregation. It’s like there is an underground well that begins to surge here and there. We will have a service where the presence of the Holy Spirit is so thick that we just sit a while (and a nonbeliever who visited for the first time testified how he enjoyed it). We’ll have God invade our community group where everyone is weeping and beginning to exercise spiritual gifts. One girl injured her ankle and was told she would be in bed for 3 months. We laid hands on her every week, and she was walking after a month, amazing the doctors (though not totally healed yet). Little things, these stirrings of hunger underneath the surface. We are not seeing the outpouring that we know we need and we desire, but we are closer than before and we know that God is making us ready.
Hebrew
We will soon be finishing up this semester in our Hebrew Learning. This semester was a challenging one, and we are so grateful that we have been able to improve substantially. Last week, we even babysat for a couple in the congregation whose children spoke ZERO English! We were able to communicate almost perfectly with them!
Please pray for us as we are looking for a new apartment. We will be taking a brief trip to the United States in late August and we are praying to find adequate 3 bedroom housing before then.
Worship Album Update
Please pray with us for what we believe to be a very God-inspired project. The songs are still in production (meaning the musicians and producer people are still putting it together in Texas), but it has taken longer than we thought. Everything is paid for, so money is not the issue. We want to bless God and his people with these songs in His timing, so we are asking for your prayer that he would help everyone connected to this project to finish by the summer. What we have heard so far sounds fantastic and we can’t wait to share it with you!
